Autograph letter signed, dated : Bayreuth, 5 September 1876, to Misses [i.e. Mrs.] [Gustav] Schirmer, 1876 Sep. 5.

Expressing regret that she and her father [Franz Liszt] did not see Mrs. Schirmer before she left, saying that her husband [Richard Wagner] "is quite convinced that if his cause is so well represented and diffended [sic] in Amerika, he owes it for the greater part to you," sending Wagner's portrait, thanking her for the crown [a silver laurel wreath] that she gave to Wagner, saying that Mrs. Schirmer does "in fact represent for him the whole of the American nation who inspired him so well in his march," etc.
